Why visit

Dutý kámen between Cvikov and Kunratice offers a short forest hike, rock reliefs and a view towards Cvikov. The final steps and rocky terrain require extra care with young children. The linked route is a shortened version of the Cvikov viewpoints loop.

This protected natural monument is a sandstone ridge approximately 600 metres long, rising 20 to 30 metres above the surrounding terrain. It is named after its tallest mushroom-shaped rock tower with a rock window.

The path passes overgrown extraction pits and an old quarry on its way to the Karolínin odpočinek rock bench. A narrow passage and steps carved into the rock lead to Široký kámen. Remains of a viewing compass and sundial, along with a relief of German poet Theodor Körner, survive here.

The viewpoint looks out towards Ortel, Klíč, Cvikov and Zelený vrch with the Švýcárna pavilion. Vegetation now obscures part of the former panorama, but the rock formations and traces of their historic access remain the route's main attraction.
