Why visit

This eight-kilometre walking loop leads directly from the apartment into the low sandstone rocks between Drnovec and Kunratice. Along the way you will discover rock reliefs, chapels, viewpoints and traces of the stories associated with this small rock town.

One stop is a chapel carved into the rock in the shape of a classical temple. Nearby is another rock chapel with a bench, created when the site was restored in 1934.

Beneath an overhang you will find Karlův odpočinek, with a bench dedicated by the Kunratice branch of the Mountain Association to its chairman Karel Beckert. A pair of similar rocks on a small spur is aptly named Blíženci, the Twins.

The small Waltro rock shelter commemorates Walter Hofmann's resistance group and the refugees who hid here during the Second World War. The route links these modest landmarks into a varied trip for which sturdy footwear is worthwhile.
