Why visit

The highlight of the eight-kilometre loop is the transporter bridge at Andělská Hora: a suspended cabin that you propel across the Lusatian Neisse yourself. The route runs mainly along a cycle path and combines nature with industrial heritage.

The cabin crosses the river on a suspension more than twenty metres long. By turning a crank, passengers power a simple mechanism that carries them, their bicycle and even a pushchair to the opposite bank.

Continuing towards Chrastava, you pass a striking Art Nouveau red-brick textile factory. In the town you can also visit the fire-fighting technology museum or an exhibition about the millrace and Francis turbine.

The transporter bridge is freely accessible and operates without staff, making the crossing itself part of the adventure for children. When water levels are high, always respect the current conditions on site.
