Why visit
From the municipal swimming pool, walk to the pond with a hand-operated ferry, where children can pull themselves across to the other side. The short walk continues to the Mlýnky miniature park and returns along the same route.
Mlýnky consists of models of Česká Kamenice buildings arranged around a stream. The water turns moving parts of a mill, sawmill and other structures; children can also pump water, raise sluice gates and alter its flow.
The longer loop climbs through the woods to the Žába and Ponorka sandstone viewpoints. Ponorka consists of three rock towers reached by carved steps and connected by railed bridges. The highest rock overlooks Jehla, Zámecký vrch and the surrounding countryside.
If you have enough energy, include the basalt peak of Jehla in your route. A path along a narrow rocky ridge leads to its small viewing platform, so this section is unsuitable for pushchairs or children who are not confident on steeper terrain.
